A lot of spaces look like "connection"....

You're "the good one." "The strong one." "The reliable one." You've been called these things so many times that you started believing they were compliments. Maybe they were, until somewhere along the way they became a job description, and you don't remember signing the contract.‼️

Especially if you're the one everyone leans on.

Reader, you're the one who remembers everyone's birthday and shows up early and stays late. The one people call when their life is falling apart, but somehow never the one whose life anyone notices is quietly falling apart too. 👀

So you keep showing up...

You keep holding it together. You read the room before you walk in, calculate how much of yourself is okay to bring, and leave the rest at the door. You share, but not too much. You're honest, but only to a certain point.

Am I being too much? Too loud? Too emotional? Is this landing okay?

It's exhausting. And it's also one of the loneliest ways to be in a room full of people who think they know you.

Here's the thing I want to name: You might not be able to point at exactly what's wrong...

Cuz I know...nothing is technically falling apart, right? From the outside, you look fine. Better than fine (I am *so* good at this!)...but underneath it, there's a quiet voice that's been getting louder, and it's saying something like:

I don't think I want to keep living like this...

You mat not know what "this" is yet & you don't have to. What I want you to know is that voice isn't a problem to solve.

It's the part of you that hasn't given up on you. She's the one trying to bring you home & it's time you listen to WHAT she has to say. She's not going to do it through more performing, more holding it together, more being the good one.. but through the opposite — through letting you exhale.

If something in you just exhaled reading that, you're who I'm talking to, love.

P.S: After our "not so 8/8 lions gate" on 8/7, I'm pausing Circle until 9/4. In the almost five years of hosting, I've NEVERRRR done this. 😳 I've spent years holding space for other women's healing, and somewhere along the way, I stopped noticing that I needed to be held, too. So I'm taking some time to rest, breathe, & remember who I am outside of all my roles (facilitator, wife, business owner, etc.)

Reply back to this email with "SC", and I'll send you over the details for the upcoming person dates before our much needed respite.

X,
Jess

(Found on Pinterest, Artist Unknown) Good morning Reader, There's a part of you that's been trying to get your attention for years. 👀 You haven't been ignoring her on purpose...I know. 🫶 You've just been busy. You've had things to do, people to take care of, jobs to keep, fires to put out. So when she showed up — through the headache that wouldn't quit, the tension you couldn't explain, the fatigue that no amount of sleep seemed to fix — you took note. Maybe you took a pill or something for...

Niet Invullen Voor Een Ander (NIVEA) It means: don't fill in the blanks for someone else. You know what they say about "assuming": it makes an ASS out of U and ME. 😉 We assume we know other peoples intentions... what they say, do, or don't do. It's a guessing game, not rooted in facts. We have a tendency to personalize a lot of what happens to us, & that's normal.. but I'm here to remind you that not everything is about you. We are all operating for our own level of perceptions,...

Good morning, Reader! It's my birthday today & I wanted to do something different: I decided to write a love letter to the women in my life. Because that is what I'm celebrating today. To the woman who drives across the state on a Friday night to Sacred Circle because something in her knows it matters. Who walks in tired, sometimes a little resistant, and leaves lighter than she came in. Who keeps coming back even when life is full of things asking for the same hours... To the women who found...
